Attaching multiple text boxes to a line

I need to add multiple text boxes to a line so the line
does not go through the text. I can add one and move it
around, but am unable to add a second text box which
attaches to the line.

If I add a normal text box and move it to the line the
line goes through the text. In Flowcharter I used to
make the text opaque but can't find this option in Visio.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

You can attach another textbox to a line and fill a color to the text box
so that the connector will not pass through the text. This effect is
because the text background is transparent. All you have to do is fill the
textbox with a color.

Right-click on the textbox and select Format, Fill (You can also get this
dialogbox from the Format Menu > Fill

In the dialogbox, select a color, I selected White, Pattern None and
transparency 0% and clicked on Ok. Back in the drawing you can notice that
the text box does not have the connector line going through it rather it
looks like it is going behind it

Thanks and regards,

Hi Umesh,

Thank you - I have tried that which works but
unfortunately we paste our flowcharts into Powerpoint and
our template which we are not allowed to change has a
black background and so of course the white background is
viewable.

Thanks for your help. Am thinking that maybe there is no
way to do what I need except by drawing multiple lines.

Kylie
