Attaching zip files to emails

When I try to attach a zip file to an email it doesn't show up in the folder
as a file that can be attached. I can see it when I open the folder through
"my computer", but it doesn't show up when I try to attach it. Is there a
setting that I need to change?

If you don't want to change Windows' default handling of zip files and
compressed folders (as described in the page Diane suggested), then attach
your zip files by opening the folder containing them and dragging the file to
the message instead of using the Attach button.
