Either I'm doing something wrong, or I've stumbled upon an apparent
deficiency in Word for Macintosh (office 2004) versus Word for Windows
(Office 2003):
In Word for Windows 2003, if you have a Word.doc and select SendTo (as
HTML), an email editing window opens up IN WORD, showing your word.doc with
all formatting neatly preserved via HTML, residing in the body of the email.
Then, if you want, you can click a paper clip icon and attach
anything-you-want to your now-HTML-formatted email.
In Word for Mac 2004, as soon as you click SendTO, there is never an option,
while in Word, to attach anything to the HTML message. the HTML message goes
directly to Entourage, which greys out all attachment options. You are
unable to attach anything to an HTML message.
It's strange for Microsoft not to include, in Office 2004 for Macintosh, the
ability to attach something to an HTML-formatted email. These kinds of
discrepancies can cause workflow management problems among cross-platform
team members, helping perpetuate the notion that Windows and Macs don't mix
well.
