Attachment in email doesn't appear until forwarded

This is an interesting problem that I have never ran across before. We have
a user who orders from an online supplier on a regular basis. When an order
is placed with this vendor they send a receipt back via email with a PDF
version of the receipt. This is an automated process that we've been
getting for over a year.

Recently we upgraded our user from Win98 to WinXP and from Outlook Express
to Outlook 2002. Since the move to the new OS and mail client our guy does
not see an attachment when he receives mail from the supplier. He still
gets the mail but there appears to be no attachment, unless he forwards the
message. If he presses the forward button then the attachment appears and
he's able to open the attachment.

If that isn't weird enough, for testing purposes we had he change the
address of where the receipt was sent. When I receive the attachement in my
Outlook 2002 installation I do not see the attachment up reading or
forwarding. The kicker is, if I forward the email, whomever I forward the
email to will see the attachment and be able to open it.

We are going to setup Outlook Express and see if that handles the same mail
differently. I haven't been able to find anything on Microsoft's site, so
if anyone out there has an idea or have come across the similar problem any
help will be muc appreciated.

Thank
