Attachment name & extn lost

When I send an email to hotmail or gmail from an application( using CDO 1.21)
the attachment names are lost and so are the extensions. Hotmail shows extn
as .bin and gmail shows it as .zip. But if I include an internal email
address( company domain, Exchange) I receive the attachment with out any
issues.

Any Ideas?
