My setup includes an Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2003 client. I send a
message with attachment included to a non-existent mailbox, and the remote
smtp server send me back a "mailbox unavailable" message. The issue here is
that the original attachment (a .pdf) has been removed from the message, and
having several messages to process (it's a monthly customer invoice
delivery), I have to attach again the file to the message, instead of simply
correct the destination address and forward.
I have to migrate form Domino to Exchange, and I have a different behavior
from the system I'm going to migrate my mailboxes from, a IBM Domino server
and Notes client, where in this case the original attachment is retained
inside the "mailbox unvavailable" reply.
This makes me think it's a Exchange-Outlook relate configuration issue and
not the remote stmp removing the attachment before sending the "mailbox
unvavailable" reply.
Help is appreciated.
