Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I am creating a document in word. I can read it when I create it. I am attaching the document in an email. Sending it to another Mac. When the person I send it to opens it they can't read the document because it is in symbols. How can this be fixed? I never had trouble with it before until a few days ago.

You haven't said HOW you are sending it.

If it's by email, the problem is in your email program or their email
program. And you haven't said which one you are using. Or which one YOU
are using.

Nor have you said which version of Word THEY are using.

So I am a little stumped as to how to help you.
