attachments are taking too long to open on outlook 2000

outlook attachments are taking too long to open for some users. (excel and
word attachments) I did windows update and office update. it will be ok for a
few days and problem occurs again. We have exchange 2003 servers, outlook
2000 on XP .
Please Help!!!
