Attachments Corrupted

Like many others I speak to, since upgrading to Entourage 2004, most of my
jpg, pict, and other image format attachements are corrupted when I receive
them in Entourage 2004. This is true whether I open them within
Entourage or if I download them to my desktop first. It happens from
anyone sending me images, inside or outside of my company. Once in a
rare while, the images will come through fine. Seems to be only on small
jpgs. 90% of the time they come in corrupted or I can't open them at all. If
I go to Outlook Web Access and see the same eMails online, the
attachements are fine. If I go to AppleMail or Eudora, the attachments come
in fine. Aaaargh! What is the problem? I am hearing this problem from
others. I have rebuilt the database, no luck. I have re-installed Office 2004,
no luck. I do not have Office v. X still on the hard drive, but may have to go
back to that if this can't be solved quickly. My father and three unrelated
associates have the same issue.

Please help, anyone!!

Using G4 Cube, running OS Panther and Office 10.1.4 /10.1.5

Out of nowhere, attachments received attached to emails either won't open
at all, or they are corrupted.
At first thought this was a Word problem because Word files open with the
"Convert File" dialogue window. When I select a file format, e.g. "Text Only"
and click ok, the files open as gobbledygook code. I checked for the
"Confirm conversions at open" option in Preferences; it is off. I tried opening
the files in Text Edit, which produced an "Open failed" message. Also tried
opening with MacLink, which immediately freezes with the endlessly
spinning beach ball.
Then, other attachments including image files wouldn't open.

I posted this problem on the Word Newsgroup May 3'04. Beth Rosengard
suggested I "Remove Office" and do a clean install. Finally got around to
doing that today. Alas, after reinstalling Office, the problem still exists. So
now I'm trying Entourage for help.
In the meantime I have been downloading undamaged attachments directly
from my service provider through WebMail, but it is a pain.

Has anyone found an answer to this?

I'm posting at the end of December and I'm having the same problem that
Drew Gibson is having and haven't found any posts of solutions.
