Attachments in copied PST

I'm currently setting up my new PC and have copies of archive PSTs from my old (Exchange-based) job. I can see all my emails but when I attempt to open attachments my than 75% of them I get the message 'The operation failed. An object could not be found.' Is there any way that I can get these attachments to open? Is there anyway I can ensure that archiving on my current PST will archive the attachments as well as the email body
