For the last two weeks I've had the following problem: every time I
try to attach a message to an outgoing mail in Entourage 2008 (version
12.2.6), my system (10.6.4 Snow Leopard) crashes. When I restart my
computer (2.66 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon MacPro) and attempt to open
Entourage, I get a message indicating the database is corrupted and
need to be rebuilt. Despite rebuilds, the problem is not solved --
any mail with an attachment, regardless of the attachment file type,
causes the same problem.
Has anyone else had the same problem, and what did you do about it?
I'll be more than a little happy when Office 2011 comes out next
month! No more one-hour rebuilds of the bulky database. The database
also really slows down backups -- write one mail in Office 2008 and
you need a complete backup of the whole database -- quite inefficient!
