Hi
I think maybe my thread got lost as I've had no reply for a couple of days. Here is a copy of the text so far
Hi
If you have a message with the attachment embedded in the body of the message you can print the message and can see the file name and the attchment icon. However if you have amessage with the attachment visible only in the header (under the subject heading field) when you print this off it will print the message with all the fields (to, from, and subject) EXCEPT the attachment field with the file name of the attachment in it
How can I get the name of the attached file to appear in the latter case
Thanks, Je

Switch the message format to Plain Text or use a printing add-in; http://www.sperrysoftware.com/Outlook/Print-On-Demand.asp?Source=RS If you decide to order use "BH93RF24" to get a discount

Hi Roady
I've just tried switching to plain text, but then it only prints the message body, nothing else at all - have I perhaps misunderstood your suggestion
Thanks, Je

Hi Jen, Wath version of Outlook are we talking about here? If you print in Plain Text the attachment icon will be visible at the bottom of the e-mail. -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook]

Hi
This is Office XP, running on XP. I have just checked this, by switching mine to plain text, then printing a message which had an attachment which was only visible in the header attachment field, and this definitly does not show the file name of the attachment anywhere on the printout.
Thanks for your continued help
