Hey there. This is a really cool and helpful site! Anyway... I have an
irritating problem with AutoRecover on my Microsoft Word documents and I
don't know how to fix it.
Frequently, when I have more than one word document open and minimized, I'll
try to maximize one of the documents. Just before it fills up the screen,
ALL of the minimized documents will suddenly disappear for no reason! But as
soon as I open another word document, I'll see the previously vanished
documents sitting safely in the AutoRecover box where I can get them each
time.
This happens every few minutes for no reason (besides maximizing) and it's a
frustrating waste of time. I tried going to Tools > Options > Save, and then
unchecking the "Save AutoRecover info every:" box, but that doesn't solve
anything. The boxes I do have checked right now are "Allow background
saves," "Embed smart tags," and "Embed linguistic data."
What should I do? Do I need to check or uncheck some boxes? Could this be
a virus that needs to be fixed? Thank you!
