We have a computer that can not send attachments (office 97 Word or Excel) The mail server stops responding
A couple of word docs did get through, and at the other end the PC either said "word can not open make sure it has a .doc extention" or, on another computer it opened as a word pad document and it was all garbage
Most of the time they just don't get to the Recipient and we have to delete it out of the out box. Regular e-mails are going through ok
I ran this by an outlook express group and they suggested that I try an office group
I created a word doc and it opens fine on the computer it was created on
A side note to this is that I tried to download CA's free virus scan to this machine and could not get to the down load page
Then when I tried to check the e-mail I got a TC/PIP error and had to restart the PC to download mail or get back to the net. Does this sound like a possable virus
I am thinking that if it was the way the Docs are getting saved then it would be an issue on the users PC as well
I upgraded this machine from OE4.5 to OE5.0 and I upgraded to office 97 in the hopes that this would fix the problem but it didn't
Any of this ring a bell
