Attendee Status update

O

O'Keefe, John

I posted something on this a few days ago but got no replies. I guess I'll
keep trying.

In my earlier post I asked why there was a delay in updating the status on
my calendar of someone who has replied to a meeting request. I want to
revise that. Does anyone know why the attendee status might not be updated
at all? I invite people to meetings, they reply and the attendee status
never changes; it just says "no response" next to the person's name, even
though they have responded.

This is Entourage 11.2 on a PowerBook G4 running OS 10.4.2

Thanks

Thanks, but does that mean the Microsof listens to you more than that
average user?

Keiko,

Thanks for the reply. The preference you mention is already checked on
my computer. As for the first suggestion, I'll give that a try.
Currently I am using the exchange directory service to select the
emails from a list rather than typing the whole address.

I thought at one point reading these boards, that unless the use
accepts the appointment by sending a response, that the original sende
would not get a status update...

Robert,

thanks for the reply. In this case, the user does send a reply and the
attendee status is not updated.

We have been experiencing the same problem of the attendee status at our
university. We are using Exchange 2003 server in a cluster environment with
a front-end/back-end. The front-end server requires SSL.

I believe we have finally tracked down this problem of the attendee status
to a setting on the Exchange server side. We are NOT experiencing the
problem on our test server(s) when the System admin modified the server
settings to "replicate" data from one server to another (back-end to
front-end). Basically it appears that the front-end server has NO attendee
status data to return to Entourage. However, this does NOT seem to be
related to the Public folders setting since using the back-end server
setting did not make a difference.

However, if you were to modify Exchange server setting in Entourage (in
Tools/Account/Edit/Account Settings pane) to be the back-end server,
attendee status updates should work since data resides there. Best
solution though appears to have the replication setting on the server.

It appears that the replication status may not be the problem. Our test
server setup is working and production is not so we need to isolate what
exactly is the difference between two setups in regards to the attendee
status issue.
