Hello All,
Several of you have been getting the now-infamous "Can't open this item. Error loading form..." issue and we have discovered at least one way to resolve the issue. Here are the details:
a.. This is only happening on machines with QuickBooks installed
a.. Various versions of QuickBooks can cause this behavior
1.. Close Outlook
2.. QuickBooks somehow is creating a zero-GUID registry key entry that is affecting BCM
a.. The key is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}\InprocServer32
a.. Rename this key to something else (such as adding .old to the end of the zero-GUID, OUTSIDE of the brackets) - don't delete it
b.. Example = {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}.old
b.. As far as we can tell, this is an invalid CLSID, so this will not affect QuickBooks functionality
3.. Restart Outlook
4.. BCM forms should open fine
Please try this if you are getting this error message and report back to this thread your results.
NOTE - Some of you may _not_ have a zero-GUID key listed. If you don't, we don't want you changing any registry keys. Currently our only suggestion is to temporarily uninstall QuickBooks if you want BCM to run properly.
Please remember that we are working hard to discover the root cause of this and will work to get an acceptable solution for both applications. Stay tuned...
