Using Windows XP and a LiteOnIt LTR-16102B CD Rom drive.
Whenever I try to copy a data file with a "Archive" attribute to a
CDRW disk, the file ends up on the disk with the "Read Only"
attribute, rendering it virtually useless. Also, the system won't
allow me to change the attribute.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think you meant to post that message in another newsgroup :) This one
is for the Microsoft Office suite.

Hi Fred--
This is the OS probably best asked in XP General or XP Custom Group not
Office but I'm not preaching.

Fastest way is to make sure you show Hidden Files and Folders>My
Computer>Properties >Security Tab

The key, and I think they could have made more intutive to get the tab is
that you *are going to have to go to Control Panel>Folder Options>View or in
a folder Tools>Folder Options>View and *turn off Use simple file sharing
first.* Note *Permissions can only be used on files and folders stored on
NTFS volumes.*

if you mean the outlook.pst, what cd writer software are you using? You need
to copy the pst to a read/write disk and that requires more than winxp's
software.

Files stored on a CD always have the read-only attribute set, and no, you
can't change it.
