Auction items on website- how?

Director of non-profit local art organization asked me about how we could
put items on website for people to bid on. Website hosting has Frontpage
extensions but that is about it.

Also are there security concerns?-- not only for website etc. but for
computers with the malware problems?

Where could I find more information?
