Audio on web needs particular media player

I successfully linked to a song on my web server from my page. However, when
others attempt to open the link, they are required to have Quicktime to
listen. The song is a .wav and should be playable with any media player.
Any suggestions?

a media file opens in whatever media player on the machine has taken over
the media files extension association. typically this will be whatever media
program was last installed. better players will have a dialog during their
installation that allows the machine owner to control what extensions it
takes over. you have no control over the site visitors media programs.

Well. That's what I thought. I recently installed Quicktime Pro, but did
not check the option that would make it my default player. I have itunes
that I use for playing music files (I checked and my machine is still set up
that way). When I click on my link from my browser, Quicktime opens. The
same thing happened to someone else who had to download Quicktime to play the
file. I actually did not touch the wav file with my Quicktime program...and
when I look at it on my computer, it has the itunes logo attached. Does
itunes just not work through a browser? So dumb, I know.
