Audio Playback is all static

Hi, when I play back a recording all I hear is static.

Any Ideas what could be wrong?

What hardware? What OS?
Are the latest sound drivers installed?
Does recording/playback operate successfully outside OneNote?

The Operation System is Window XP, Dell. I can hear the audio from other
areas other than one note.

Where do I go to down load the lastest sound drivers?

The Dell website should include software utility and driver downloads.

Hearing audio is ok, but can you record clear audio outside OneNote?
