Audio Recordings and CRASH

I have had a Mac-book Pro for 2 weeks and purchased Office:mac 2004 to
record lectures for medical school.

The first lecture i recorded in word worked great. The program is
sweat, in that it records and saves the audio recording along with the
notes you are taking so that you can go back to a particular section of
notes and listen to only that part of the lecture.

Problem: Since the first recording I have tried several times to record
and every-time I try to save the file, the program locks up. The
"time" circle pops up and wont allow me to do anything in word,
including saving and/or closing down the file. I eventually have to
force quit and loose all info or force the computer to shut down, and
once again, loose all info.

I tried to record a lecture on power point also, I pulled up the power
point the lectured was teaching and as he switched slides, I would also
switch slides so that the lecture was saved along with the particular
slide he was lecturing on. After saving the lecture, I went back to
listen. The first couple of slides were fine, but then about the 3rd
slide it only recorded a couple of seconds instead of the full 5-10
minutes, then it recorded off and on sporadically after that.

Thanks

Hi Nautica, I'm a tester for PowerPoint for the mac and I was curious
about your problem with recording the lecture onto a presentation. Is
there any way I could get a copy of your presentation to see if we see
the same problem? I also need more information. How long is the
recording for each slide approximately. How many slides? Are the
slides pretty graphic intensive? The best thing would be to get a copy
of your file if possible. If it is confidential material, we would
treat it as such.

I've tried in on my macbook pro here at work and didn't have any
problems...so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Please send the file to (e-mail address removed) if you wish and I'll
take a look at it.

thanks!
Nancy
