Audio Timestamping Stopped Working...it skips around

I've been using OneNote 2003 for two semesters. Last semester, worked fine.
This semester, it worked fine until about halfway through. Then I started
noticing:

1. The audio counter adds new recording time in the total amount field
while I'm recording, but when I hit the stop recording button, the total time
displayed for the page's recording jumps back to a shorter time. (e.g.
Property Law seems to have capped at 28:37:43.)

2. If I hit any of the timestamps to playback a recording, it plays back a
random point in the recording that may or may not be related to the
timestamp. When "See Playback" is selected, the highlighting will jump to
the appropriate timestamp for whatever is being playedback. (e.g. I click on
timestamp A, audio connected to timestamp B starts playing, and B is suddenly
highlighted, even if A and B are seperated by several days worth of
timestamps.)

Microsoft says that I have all necessary updates. Any clue as to what is
happening? Any thoughts on how to fix it? I cannot find any info online.
There may be other problems, but I haven't found them yet.
