Authenticating Office Upgrade

My Upgrade version of Office:Mac 2004 requires a previous install or
requests a CD of a qualifying previous version in order to run any of the
suite of applicaions. My new G4 PB has not got a previous install, and I have
lost the previous qualifying version (Office:Mac 2001), although I have the
CD Product Key and Product ID (and original packaging) and also registered
the 2001 version. Is there any way to activate the upgrade with the "proof
of purchase" I do have, or will I have to purchase the more costly full
version as a non-upgrade user?

If you have a copy of Office on another machine, try copying it to another
drive and transferring it to the G4 PowerBook. That might satisfy the
installer.

If not, you can request a new copy of the software. See this URL for

You might need to contact Microsoft Product Support Services if the
Supplemental Parts team can't help you.
