Authentication error using Project Pro to access Project Server

Steve Miller

One of the people I support recently changed her passord on our Active
Directory network. After doing this she is no longer able to connect to our
Project Server through her copy of Project Professional. She gets an
authentication error. However, she is able to connect ok if she logs onto
another workstation. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can check on her
workstation? I don't manage the Project Server server and really don't know
much about it either.

Hi Steve,

Changing the user's AD password would have no effect to connecting to
Project Server if the user's Project Server account is a Windows
Authentication user account.

Can you have the PWA Administrator check that user's account in Project
Server? Tell them that it needs to be a Windows Authentication user
account and not a Project Server user account.

Also, make sure that the URL to the Project Server is added the that
user's Trusted Sites list.

Good Luck

Steve,

Sounds familiar to me... Try this: Have the user connect to PWA on the
computer where the logon with Project Pro doesn't work. In PWA click "log
off" and then logon again using the windows account. Now try to logon with
Project Pro again.

Let us know if this helps...

Marc
