Author Error

I am getting this erro: "An error occurred accessing your Front Page work
files. Author, if authoring against a web server, pls. contact the webmaster
for this servers' site. Webmasters, pls. see the servers system log for
details".

Now, I found an answer on the web, went into the system files and did not
find the "string" they suggested I delete. Any other ideas?

I can't edit my pages! Help! gwhiz
