Hi Emika:
You do not need to remove Word. The following will probably be sufficient:

(Sorry about the URL -- Microsoft has no idea sometimes...)
If you want to change the installed details, you have to delete two sets of
files. Make SURE you have your CD Product Key available to re-enter before
you do this, because without it none of the applications will run after you
do this.
~:Library
references:Microsoft:Office 2008:Microsoft Office 2008
Settings.plist
-and-
HD:Applications:Microsoft Office 2008:Office:OfficePID.plist
Notes:
1) All Office applications must be quit at the time. If any are running,
this won't work.
2) You may need to set your finder Preferences to show hidden files to see
the second one.
Once both files are gone, the next time you start any Office application, it
will prompt you for the CD Key. If the key is valid, you will get the
chance to enter the correct installation details.
Hope this helps
I should clarify that some. This copy of MS Word is licensed to Donald Duck.
The application menu, preferences, user info is Donald Duck. The file,
properties, author is blank. When a Word file is put on the desktop, a
mouse-hover says Mickey Mouse.
Mickey hasn't been with the company for years, though he may have been the
original Auhtorized licensee. The user name has been changed, but perhaps the
license is still seeing Mickey Mouse. Though when I did About Word, it said it
was licensed to Donald Duck.
Do I need to remove and reinstall Word?
