Auto Archive not working

Outlook 2007/Exchange 6.5.7638.1 (SBS 2003 R2)

After running File/Archive, there are still many items much older than the
three months I have set for the folder. Does Outlook use a date other than
the Send/Receive date to determine the item's age?

Anything else I could check?

Is this the best group for this sort of question or would I be better
posting to microsoft.public.outlook?

Thanks DL.

That's the problem. Adding the Modified date column shows most messages got
'modified' middle of last month so that's why they're not getting archived.

I can't think what I did that would have caused this. No export/import or
moving between folders (not that I'd expect moving an item to affect this).
What sort of event would cause this field to change on all items in a
folder? I do have client-side rules that run when mail arrives, but the
actions only move mail to local sub-folders.

Any ideas?

Thanks, DL, bu this isn't the problem that's preventing the Archiving of
messages. Adding the Modidfied Date column shows most of the messages have
a date well before the 3 month age period specified in the folder's
preferences, but they're still not being moved to the specified file when I
run a manual File|Archive command.

There is a filed in the File|Archive dialog box in a field labelled 'Archive
items older than'. I assume the date in tis field will have an effect if
it's after the 3 month date in the folder preferences, but it isn't. Any
ideas what this date is showing as 21/08/2008? Maybe the last time an Auto
archive ran successfully? Or possibly the last date entered in this field?

There's also a checkbox labelled 'Include items with "Do Not AutoArchive"
checked'. this option is unchecked as I've never explicitly used the "Do
Not AutoArchive" option. I'd also expect it to have no effect when manually
running an explicit Archive command, but if this isn't right, please let me
know.

Any ideas what else could be preventing this from working? No error mesages
are produced.

Hello,
Did you ever find a fix for this? I have a user that is experiencing the
same problem.
