Auto. attaching template when starting Word

I would like the template I created to load automatically
when the users start Word. How do I do that?

Thank you in advance

Either put it in Word's startup directory (Find this in Tools | Options |
File Locations tab)
(usually defaults to C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP)

OR

Make the template an Add-in - See Tools | Templates and Add-Ins...

Thank you. The article is very interesting and helpful.
I copied the shortcut to the template in my Word startup
folder in the hope that the current version of the
template would load for all of our users. It appears to
work.

However, before I make an announcement to all users I
wanted to check with you if you anticipate problems with
that approach as an alternative to distributing the
changes through the XCOPY method you described in the
article.

I would recommend copying the file to all users for the following reasons

1. There are quite enough aspects of an organisation's operations that will
grind to a halt if the network goes down, without unnecessarily adding
word-processing to the list.

2. If all the computers are sharing the file it becomes harder to install an
update, since it is almost certain that somebody somewhere will have left
Word on and have the file open.
