auto-close

I'm hoping somebody out there can help me. I've noticed recently that if I
have a document open in Word and if I leave my desk for a while and then
come back, the document has closed. Either that, or if there are unsaved
changes, Word has a window waiting for me asking me if I want to save my
changes(yes/no/cancel)? Why is it trying to close the file? Is there some
setting that I can change so that everything remains open?

My screen saver (Marine Acquarium 2) will shut down some of my other apps
running at the time (even after I upgraded video driver). When I deactivate
it it kills the other apps.

Can't think of a way to make Word do it on purpose all by its lonesome.
