Auto Completing Tasks

B

bmcpherson

I have a question from an associate that I cannot answer. She says
that she has a project with several thousand detail tasks that are
ASAP, not date constrained except where needed, not effort driven, and
the majority are set as fixed duration.

She updates her plan and takes progress on a weekly basis. She says
that tasks she has taken progress on as started, e.g. says they are
50% complete, seem to autoprogress. as in they will set themselves to
100% after their estimated completion date passes, without any human
intervention. She has calculate set to manual and only runs it once a
week.

She wants to know if Project is completing the tasks because she has
started it and logged an actual start date and % progress and then the
fixed duration causes it to autocomplete?

If project does not do this is there anyhting else she can look at?

Hi,

She has to look out for a macro running when the file opens.
Try setting Macro security to High (Tools, Macro, Security) and see whether
it still happens
Because No, Project doesn't do this automatically (there is a button that
does it but you still have to click that one!

well.
