Auto completion of recipient addresses not working

Hi

My friend has Outlook 2003 running under Vista.

I successfully transferred the PST file from her old PC to her new one and
recreated the email accounts.

The only thing not working is when typing in a recipient name or email
address in the TO box of a new email, the auto-completion of email addresses
doesn't work.

I've checked that auto complete addresses has been checked in the email
options.

When I click check names it doesn't refer to the entries in the contacts -
it doesn't find the matching contact even though it is in there.

How do I get OL to refer to the entries in the contacts and how can I get
the auto completion of email recipients?

Ian,
There is a file named 'Outlook.NK2' in c:\documents and settings\<insert
user name here>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. This file has the
previously sent addresses in it. Copy it from the old PC to the new one and
you should be OK.

Since you're doing this on a new PC, your autocompletion cache has not had a
chance to rebuild. Remember that autocompletion has nothing to do with your
Contacts folder. As you send mail, the autocompletion cache should accrue
addresses.

Now, if you has copied the NK2 file associated with the old mail profile,
you could have used it on the new PC and had all the old addresses it was
remembering.

This is not just an autocompletion problem:

Please read through Russ Valentine's numerous posts aboutwhat to do when you
have messed up your Outlook by importing. This isa classic syptom.
