Auto Correct in OneNote

I use OneNote in class to take all of my notes. This is undoubtedly the best
program I have ever used for such purposes, and as I look around the room, I
pity the people sitting there with their brand new laptops with the 2007
suite on it, who are using Word to take notes. The one problem I have
discovered with OneNote, is that it comes with an unpopulated AutoCorrect
list for automatically changing the words you type wrong. In class I type
the most furiously, and therefore makes the most mistakes. Is there any way
of bringing the AutoCorrect list from Word into OneNote?

Thanks!

David

And just think, it'd be even better on a Tablet PC. ;)

OneNote makes me wish I was back in school.

That link you provided is only in regards to certain items like the smiley
face. There must be a better way to get the autocorrect list populated
without having to add every one of the corrections manually. Is there
something that can be done to fill it with all the common errors, a file you
can import or such?

Yes, I know.

I was merely offering official Microsoft info related to your query.

That link I provided assumes that you already have a pre-populated
AutoCorrect list in ON (I'm surprised yours is empty - would it be worth
re-installing ON?) and is showing you how to top it up with what's missing
in the ON list compared to Word.

Not that I'm aware of. Sorry I can't be of more help.

David,
I have no idea what is going on, but could you check a couple of things and
let us know what the results are? It might help us all figure out what is
going on.

First, do you have a populated AutoCorrect list in PowerPoint?

Second, does running a detect and repair help any?

This problem is not just isolated to my laptop. My laptop AND my desktop
both have the same problem. Both of the computers' Word and Powerpoint
autocorrect lists are full of the standard corrections, but neither
computer's onenote list is populated. Running a repair takes a long time,
but accomplishes nothing in this field.

Thank you for your response Kathy, I hope this helps narrow it down a bit.

Has anyone figured this out yet?

It's a big problem for me, and for the same reason.

Also it'd be nice if OneNote could autocorrect errors like "this is theh ouse"
[which ought to read "this is the house"...]
