Auto date feature

When starting a new document in Word 2002, the template opens with today's
date entered. Is there a way to prevent the date from changing to the
current date the next time the doc is opened?

TIA

Hi Danny,

You need to use the CreateDate field (Insert/Field) in the template
instead of the Date field. When a new document is created based on the
template the date will be the date the new document was created.
