Auto date update

Evertime I open a document that was created using letter
wizard the date auto updates to the current date, how do I
stop this as I want to reprint the document with the date
it was created on?

Use the following field code:

{CREATEDATE \@ "dd MMMM yyyy" \*MERGEFORMAT}

You must use Ctrl+F9 for the braces.

Press Alt+F9 to display the field code. Change DATE (or TIME) to CREATEDATE,
Alt+F9 to toggle back, and F9 to update.

Thank's for all the reply's but I don't think this
answer's my question. On the insert menu Date and Time the
auto update is not checked but the document auto change's
the date when opened.

If the date is updating you have inserted a field and the advice you have
been given is correct.
Change the field in the template for the benefit of future documents, but
for the present, changing the field in the document will restore the created
date. The insert date tool doesn't enter into it.
