Auto dates in word

Can anyone help on this?

If I put in a date e.g. 10-4-04, then press "Return" to go to the next line,
Word automatically puts in the same date on the next line. Same if I use
"." instead of "-".


Is there any way I can turn this off?

Turn off bullets & numbering under Tools-Autocorrect, Autoformat as you type
tab.
