auto delete records older than 30 days

Is there a way ms access can automatically delete table
records that are greater than a certain date?

There is a field in the table which records the date the
record was added to the table.

Obviously, I can achieve this via a delete query. This
however is a manual function and due to the size of the
database table very slow.

Any replies welcome.
