auto delete

In last couple of weeks, the Delete and Send Folders are emptied
automatically twice. I have not changed any setting. Obviously, something is
changed and that is causing the deletion of the files.
Emptying the Send Box is serious problem for me. Those are my business
record. I empty the Delete box after careful checking. There were occations
when I had mistakenly deleted mails thinking it to be a spam.
Here are my settings:
Empty the deleted Items folder upon exiting is unchecked.
Archive or Delete old items - checked.
clean out older items set at 6 months.
Can somebody help me so that these two boxes are not emptied automatically ?

right click both folders and and choose properties.
on the Autoarchive tab click the option button "do not archive..."

I did what you have suggested. I just opened my outlook and the Delete and
the Send folders are empty. The settings are "do not Archive" on both boxes.
What is happening?

This seems utterly strange...
Check wether you don't have some filter active on the view settings for
those folders (VIEW / CURRENT VIEW / CUSTOMIZE CURRENT VIEW)
Check also wether you did't share access to those folders (Right click the
folders / PROPERTIES / PERMISSIONS) - maybe someone is deleting them
Last you could check wether there are no macros running on your Outlook
(ALT+F11)

The Filter is "OFF" on both cases. F11 did not show any Micro is running in
either folder. I did not see properties/permission window.
I just notice that the folder size of Delete folder is 430 KB and Sent id
139 KB. Is it possible the system cleans itself above the limit? Is there way
to chage that setting? I never checked the setting.
