Auto-duplex setup Word2002

I have attempted to use the Bookfold option in Page Setup/Layout to print a
small booklet. The result is confusing to say the least as alternate pages
are printed upside down. I can see by other posts the method used to make
manual duplex work and my Hp printer has a Booklet mode as well. I will use
the manual method as a fallback, but the Hp mode reduces the page making font
size and margins difficult at best.
Is there any way to setup auto-duplexing in Word2002 so that the backside is
oriented top to bottom with the front?

There are some settings relating to duplexing on the Print tab of Tools |
Options. In addition, your printer Properties dialog probably has settings
relating to this. You may have to look at "Advanced" settings to find this.

I suspect since the HP print dialog prefers the HP solution to booklet
creation, HP felt no need to provide addition settings. I contacted HP
technical support first in hopes of finding just that information and
received the type of answer one would find reading the manual. Their solution
works, but... In order to read the type I have to use a size 20 font and
adjusting the margins has proven to be another problem as basically the
software shrinks copy to fit.
In Word Tools/Options/Print: While the printing order of pages can be
modified, I find nothing that leads me to believe it is possible flip a page
so that the text is upside down.
Thank you for your time and effort.

Even if you had to duplex manually, rotating the paper before printing the
second side, I suspect "Book fold" might be easier than some other
solutions.

Agreed. Disappointed in the result of the duplxer, but I do prefer the
quality result of Microsoft's Word. Thank you again.
