Auto Fill

Office 2002Std + Windows 2000Pro:

When in any Ofice App, Cntrl + O brings up an "Open" GUI.
On the "File Name" line, I can type in the first few
letters of certain folder names (but not all) and a type
of Auto Complete or Auto Fill, fills in the rest with
a "\" at the end of the folder name. I can then press
enter and now look in that folder. However, when I type
the first few letters of ANY file name, it does not
respond, even if there are known goof files with valid
names. This was not an issue with Office 97.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance,

Mike

Hi SkiAz,

As a workaround try using Wild card characters in Word 2002's file open.
For example to find Thanks.doc you can use *T* <enter> to have it
included in the results.
