Auto filter disabled when sheet locked

Hi, all !!

Hey, I could have sworn that I just recently saw this question posted on
this group, but now that I need an answer, I can't find it (or its answer)!!
I apologize for being repititious.

My workbook has a sheet where I'm using the data auto filter. Since the
sheet has formulas, I want to protect the sheet. However, when I do, the
auto filter is no longer functional. Because I really want to protect the
formulas on the sheet, and because the auto filter is a necessary part of my
workbook, I need to know if a solution is available. Can anyone help me with
this?

There are instructions here for allowing filtering on a protected
worksheet (the AutoFilter must be in place before the sheet is protected):
