Auto filter on a Master/Detail table not working switching views

Is it possible to refresh a filter on the master table when returning to a
view?

I have 2 forms both with master/detail controls both pointing to the same
data in an XML file. Each view shows seperate information via filters on the
master.

If I add a new item in the second view and return to the first view, the
filter has not been applied. Refreshing the filter manually via the right
click menu works ok.

New items created in the first view have a field entry in the data -"H" for
header
view 1 only shows items with the 'H'. View 2 shows only items without the H.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

You can based your filter on a field and when you change th view you
change the value of the field and infopath automatically update.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply although this does not really help as the filter is
fixed for the tables.

I need some way to automatically trigger the filter refresh when a user
changes to a view.

I do not want to change the value of the field, it either has the character
'H' or it doesnt.

If I add items to the table in view 2 and switch back to view 1, the items
added are visible. Even though these items do not have the field with a 'H'
and therefore should not be shown. The icons at the side of the master table
rows indicate some rows have the filter applied and the new rows do not.

thanks
