Auto-Format issue

I've just upgraded to WindowsXP and Office XP,
transferred all my data and am beginning to add contacts
to my Outlook address book. When entering phone numbers,
Outlook normally auto-formats to a phone number format -
example: (123) 456-7890. However, my new Outlook is not
doing that, but simply entering it in "Text" format.
I've gone to the table view and clicked on "Format
Columns", and no other choices are provided for those
particular columns other than "Text". Anyone have any
suggestions? I hate having to take the time to actually
put in the parentheses, dashes, etc.

I would hope and assume you are entering data into the Contacts Folder, not
the Outlook Address Book. Masking of phone numbers will occur automatically
once you set your dialing location correctly.
