Auto Generation

Hi,

I would like to ask the experts out there to give me some
tips on how to go about writing a macro in Word.
Currently, I am thinking of writing a macro to help me to
generate a payout voucher for a list of people. I am now
writing it manually monthly, their names, date, ref. no,
description of item, amount and total in numbers and
words. The payout is fixed every month. Each person can
have more than 1 item to be paid. For example:

Person A
1) Cash aid for the month of Nov. 2003 USD50.00
2) Bus aid for the month of Nov. 2003 USD50.00
Total USD100.00

Person B
1) Medical aid for the month of Nov. 2003 USD100.00

There are many more, my list has got about 50 of them.
Therefore I would like to use the macro to generate the
vouchers automatically every month for me. I have got the
listing in Excel format.

Can you experts out there, give me some tips on how
should I go about writing the macro, or is there any
website or sample codes that I can refer to. If you need
more details please let me know then I will feed you with
more details or even the format of the voucher that I
wish to create. Many Thanks in advance.

Regards,
LSB

Hi LSB,

You might look at the "Multiple items per condition" item under the "Special
merges" section of fellow MVP CIndy Meister's website at

http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister/MergFram.htm

But I would put the data into and Access database and use an Report in
Access to create the vouchers.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
