Auto Importing of text fiel data

Hi,

I am new to excel programming but know Unix shell
programming.
I have a data logger that generates text files for each
pass of data collection.
I want to have Excel import these fiels as they become
available to it, and then display a graph of some of the
text file arrays components.
Any Suggestions?
