Auto link to another worksheet

I've got this rather large excel sheet I've been working on that has a rather large amount of valuable data on it. To prevent any corruption to this data while analyzing it I copied some portions to a new worksheet. But in doing so it appears I've created a link to the original excel file that I can't get rid of, and I'm really tired of being asked whether I want to update it. How do I remove this link from my original file.

One way:

Select the cells with the links, copy them and choose Edit/Paste
Special, selecting the Values radio button.

There are no apparent cells within the worksheet like that. especially since I've never copied anything to this spreadsheet once I established it as the primary source. This occurred when I copied material from it to another spreadsheet. But if you tell me how to search for such cells (I have over 15 worksheets within this spreadsheet and nearly 500,000 cells to go over) I would much appreciate it.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you - I missed your reply somehow.

Try using Bill Manville's FindLink add-in, which you can find on Stephen
Bullen's Downloads page:

http://www.bmsltd.ie/MVP/Default.htm

It's designed for WinXL, so the dialogs are scrunched, but it works.

You may need to download and install the "VBA Converter for Excel X"
add-in from MacTopia Downloads:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx
