Auto List Members rarely works

Does anyone have trouble getting Auto List Members to work? I have Office 2003 and when typing in
VBA code, auto list members feature almost never works. Is there a way to bring down the list
manually while typing in VBA code? I think there's a control key sequence for that but I can't find
it.
