Auto-notification for email

I am looking for a way to flag an email so it will automatically notify me in
a period of time I set (say a week) that an issue is ongoing. I don't know
too much about tasks, what I have been doing is flagging these for
reminder... however, is there a way for this screen to be brought up as soon
as I read an email? Or is there a way for me to automatically put it in a
folder that will notify me in a week? Or even do something like when I flag
it, have it get put in a folder? Or even as soon as I put something in a
folder, have that flag for reminder screen come up? If anyone has any other
ideas I would be incredibly greatful. Thanks again.

Outlook 2007 adds this functionality to Outlook. In Outlook 2003, you can add a reminder to your tasks.
