Auto numbering for table rows

HI,

I am trying to get auto numbering with levels (like a list
or outline) in table cells. The numbering button yields
only one level of numbers, but I am looking for four
levels.

I have spent about 1.5 hours on numbering and tables
groups, but have found no direct answer. Has anyone ever
needed to do this? How did you approach it?

If you set up outline numbering as described in
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html, you'll be
able to use it in tables, but you won't be able to use Tab and Shift+Tab to
demote/promote levels. You should be able to use Alt+Shift+Left/Right Arrow,
though.
