Auto-Numbering in Document is printed or viewed as boxes

I have a document that a user views and rather than
seeing the Auto Numbering in the section like 4.1, 4.2
etc... he gets boxes instead of numbers.

Can anyone advise why this happens.

Check the font for the numbers. (It's one of the buttons on the Customize
dialog for outline numbering).
