Auto Play PPS on my website

I have created a presentation using PowerPoint 2003 that I want to put on my
website. I have set up the hyperlink, but when I click on it, PowerPoint
does not automatically start. I have several items on my website in other
formats (.wav, .wmv, .pdf etc) all of which automatically start in the proper
software. My website viewers get a window that wants them to "find" a
software to open the presentation. I have saved it as a .pps file and have
changed the properties to powerpoint as the software to open it. What can I
do to get it to automatically play in PowerPoint when the hyperlink line is
clicked?

Care to provide us with a link so we can see what is happening. Also, your assuming of course that everyone has either the full version of PowerPoint or the free PowerPoint viewer installed on their computers so they can view your presentation.

Hello,

If you put the original PPS file to Website, when you click it, it will
open throuth PowerPoint program by default, so it can not play
automatically.

I recommend that you convert your PPS file to Flash, and then insert
the Flash file to your Web, then the Flash can be shown automatically.
Of course, all the original effects will be retained in the Flash, and
the converted Flash will be smaller and supported by multiple
explorers.

I often use 'PPT2Flash Standard '
(http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-flash.html)to help me, hope it
can help you.

Your wav and wmv file can automatically start, why not convert your
PPT file to wav or wmv format?
Just convert your PPT file to wmv file because not everyone has the
PowerPoint installed.

Not only you but I encountered the same problem a month ago,I suggest you
convert the powerpoint file to .wmv or .wav because you mentioned that .wav,
..wmv, .pdf can automatically start in the proper software.Moyea PPT to Video
Converter (http://www.dvd-ppt-slideshow.com/ppt-to-video/)allows you to burn
powerpoint into video files, such as .wmv, although it hasn’t been updated it's
still fairly usefull.
